¹⁵ He asked her, “Woman, why are you crying?^(A) Who is it you are looking for?”

Thinking he was the gardener, she said, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will get him.”

²⁶ It was reported to the king of Assyria: “The people you deported and resettled in the towns of Samaria do not know what the god of that country requires. He has sent lions among them, which are killing them off, because the people do not know what he requires.”

³ He said to the Levites, who instructed^(A) all Israel and who had been consecrated to the Lord: “Put the sacred ark in the temple that Solomon son of David king of Israel built. It is not to be carried about on your shoulders. Now serve the Lord your God and his people Israel.

¹⁹ The power of the horses was in their mouths and in their tails; for their tails were like snakes, having heads with which they inflict injury.

²² Consider therefore the kindness^(A) and sternness of God: sternness to those who fell, but kindness to you, provided that you continue^(B) in his kindness. Otherwise, you also will be cut off.^(C)

²⁷ Then the sovereignty, power and greatness of all the kingdoms^(A) under heaven will be handed over to the holy people^(B) of the Most High.^(C) His kingdom will be an everlasting^(D) kingdom, and all rulers will worship^(E) and obey him.’

²⁷ The account of his sons, the many prophecies about him, and the record of the restoration of the temple of God are written in the annotations on the book of the kings. And Amaziah his son succeeded him as king.

⁵ He who was seated on the throne^(A) said, “I am making everything new!”^(B) Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”^(C)

²⁰ He took with him the commanders of hundreds, the nobles, the rulers of the people and all the people of the land and brought the king down from the temple of the Lord. They went into the palace through the Upper Gate^(A) and seated the king on the royal throne.
